Course Description
Clinic II Lecture will present a detailed analysis of the art of case documentation. The student intern will participate in role playing scenarios in the classroom. The student will learn through classroom presentations proper clinic decorum and will gain insight into clinical procedures and protocols.
Course Purpose
The purpose of Clinic II Lecture is to help the student intern master the art of case documentation using the SOAP format for participation in Student and Outpatient clinical experiences. This course will also introduce the student to basic clinical procedures for better understanding of their observations in the Parker College of Chiropractic Student and Outpatient clinics.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student intern will be able to:
1.Properly document the subjective data for SOAP notes using OPQRST format.
2.Identify the criteria for documentation of the objective data for SOAP notes.
3.Identify the criteria for documentation of the assessment data for SOAP notes.
4.Identify the criteria for documentation of the daily treatment plan for SOAP notes.
5.Participate in role playing scenarios of patient consultations.
6.Be able to explain what constitutes a professional attitude.
7.Be able to explain the three (3) day patient procedure for new patients.
8.List and justify rational for ordering radiological procedures.
9.Identify the forms used in clinic at Parker College of Chiropractic and give a basic explanation of their purpose.
10.Explain the criteria for qualitative assessment.
11.Explain the credit requirements for graduation.
