Course Description:
Microbiology is the study of microorganisms. Topics include growth, reproduction, nutrition, genetics, infectious processes, defense mechanisms, and control of microorganisms.
Safety:
Proper techniques will be demonstrated and required for all laboratory exercises because students will be working with living microorganisms. Some of the organisms are pathogens and can be a health hazard. Careful work habits will protect all of us in the laboratory from accidental infection.
Prerequisites:
Cells and Tissues & Biochemistry (or concurrent enrollment), Physiology I (concurrent enrollment)
