COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course takes a new approach to the development and integration of knowledge in regards to radiological modalities and treatment parameters available in the clinical setting for the chiropractor. Current trends, common procedures and new concepts will be studied and debated. The study of musculoskeletal imaging will be emphasized. The laboratory portion of this course will mainly be dedicated to the advancement of the student's skills in the interpretation of conventional and advanced radiological studies.
PURPOSE OF COURSE: The goal of this course is to familiarize the student with the specialized vocabulary, procedures, diagnosis and treatment options related to common musculoskeletal conditions observed by a chiropractor. The student will be introduced to new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Additionally, the student will also develop his/her research and public presentation skills. For the laboratory portion, the students will learn how to interpret the images and to correlate the information with radiological reports.
PREREQUISITES: All prior radiology courses.
