Course Objectives:
 The mission of Parker College of Chiropractic is to educate men and women of all nationalities to become Doctors of Chiropractic, who will be able to serve as portal of entry, primary health care physicians and perpetuate chiropractic education, research, science, philosophy and art world-wide for the benefit of all mankind.  Research Methods aids in this mission by developing in the student a beginning understanding of basic research and the statistical methods used to support it.  It also aids the students in understanding and comprehending the research papers they will need to read and cite to act as portal of entry primary health care physicians.
Completion of Research Methods should provide the student with a basic understanding of:
1.  How to read and critically evaluate research
2.  Experimental design
3.  Experimental methods
4.  Statistical analysis used in research
5.  Threats to the validity of the results
6.  Types of sampling
7.  Types of research

8.  Descriptive statistics and measurements of central tendency
9.  Measures of variance
10.  Inferential statistics
11.  Develop an understanding of the history of biomedical research and Chiropractic research specifically
12.  Learn the mechanisms in place in Chiropractic for both students and field practitioners to obtain funding support, or participate in research
13.  Understand the landmark research studies that formed the Chiropractic profession as it exists today
14.  Develop basic literature search skills needed to effectively use biomedical electronic databases to locate research
