COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course reviews the concept of the spinal subluxation as  introduced in Palpation I, and reinforces skills taught in locating the subluxation. The chiropractic adjustment is introduced, along with a rationale for delivering a safe, dynamic thrust for both the patient and the doctor.  A  total of sixty specific diversified adjustments are taught, and the student is expected to master these techniques on the cognitive and motorskills level.
Video taping:
It is planned to video each student while performing chiropractic  technics at least once during the trimester.  These films will be shown later in lecture class.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

1. To learn when diversified adjusting may be harmful.
2. To review palpation and motion palpation methods.
3. To learn how to touch people.
4. To learn a massage method preparatory to adjusting.
5. To be able to find the subluxations - to perform a chiropractic examination.
6. To have the skill to perform 60 diversified techniques; to be able to adjust any bone from the occiput to the sacrum in more than one way.
7. To be able to thrust properly.
8. To know the Texas Law pertaining to chiropractic adjusting.
9. To develop the self-confidence necessary to properly adjust patients with diversified techniques.
