All programs starting the Fall of 2020- There is scheduled maintenance for Blackboard occurring August 25th-August 27th. During this time you will not have access to the New Student Orientation course. 

Common Questions

For Online Orientation:

Q: When will be Online Orientation be available for me to start?

A: Online Orientation will be available 21 days prior to the start of the trimester, or after you have been registered for your courses if you are within the 21 day timeframe.

 

Q: Who do I contact if I have a technical issue?

Q: Is Online Orientation at my own pace?

A: Most of Online Orientation is at your own pace and can be completed at any time of the day once the course is open. For many programs, there is one Synchronous (real-time) event where you get to meet your Program Director or Dean and ask questions regarding your program with current Parker students present to help provide a student perspective. This event will occur on August 28th, time of this event will be announced within your course.

For On-Ground Orientation:

Q: Can my parent/spouse/partner/friend come with me to New Student Orientation?

A: At this time, individuals other than new incoming students are not able to participate in New Student Orientation. Please encourage them to attend Parker Power weekend as that has sessions specific to their needs.

 

Q: Do I need to bring food?

A: You may want to bring a snack, but food is provided if a session continues during a meal time. This typically includes breakfast and lunch during day 1, and breakfast options if your program continues for a second day. If you have specific questions feel free to contact Sierra.Jones@parker.edu

 

Q: I have dietary needs, will I have options?

A: We have specific options for vegans and those with gluten intolerance. Meals are primarily buffet style with multiple options. If you have additional needs please email Sierra.Jones@parker.edu

 

Q: Am I staying on campus?

A: No, students attending two day orientation sessions should contact their admissions representative for housing options.
