Wilkinson Center

Wilkinson Center is just that – a center. A starting point for pathways that lead to better things. Since 1982, we’ve helped transform the lives of Dallas families in crisis by setting them on their paths. Whether it’s a path that leads to employment or a path that puts food on the table every day, we are working towards an end to hunger and generational poverty. Our formula for success is case management, a compassionate staff, dedicated volunteers, and effective, individualized programming that provides food, adult education and jobs. And we believe we can all get from where we are to where we want to be much sooner if we move forward, together.

We are currently in need of volunteers to serve at our Food Pantry and with our Pantry2Go mobile food truck distributions. Various dates and shifts available. For more information or to sign up to volunteer, visit: https://bit.ly/ServePantry.

Feed My Starving Children

Feeding kids. Feeding spirits. Empowering communities.

Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. From this data, we estimate at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. This is heartbreaking.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.

FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Nutrition allows children to grow, thrive and develop to their full potential.

Sharing Life

Sharing Life strives to end hunger and poverty by demonstrating compassion to those in need through food, clothing, financial resources, and educational programs.  Sharing Life is one of the few organizations in the DFW area that provides a full range of services in one location. In addition to food, we offer clothing, utility assistance, medical equipment, educational programs, financial coaching, and shelter for our unhoused neighbors. If we do not offer the service, we have many resources available to our clients to free them from visiting multiple offices to receive the assistance they need. We are only able to provide these services through a small, dedicated staff and a robust volunteer program. We are always looking for volunteers to help in our Food Pantry and Clothing Closet, as well as the many special events we have throughout the year.

All volunteers must fill out a volunteer application. That can be done in person at the Sharing Life building located at 3544 E. Emporium Circle, Mesquite, TX 7510 or it can be done online at the following page, which also has our available opportunities: https://sharing-life-community-outreach.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/.
